This is the unedited photo. I realize the photo is a little off center, but I still liked the way it came out. It's a cool point of view photo because this lighthouse really isn't that big. It looks pretty tall from here though

I didn't really like the way this came out. It looks slightly cheesy to me and I feel like I've seen this picture somewhere a million times before. I wanted to do something other then make the photo B&W, and this was one of the better edits. I tinted the sky more blue and also messed with the lighthouse a bit. Out of the two photos,the  first is my favorite.

I took this photo at Robert Moses Beach a while back for the Rule-Of-Thirds photo assignment but decided not to use it. I took this photo laying on the ground and really enjoyed the way it came out. At first I thought I would like this picture  better then then edited photo, but after the editing process I personally like the second one better.

This was the photo after it was edited. I like how the sky and clouds look a lot better then the first, and the overlay made the sand looks a lot cooler.

Photo Manipulation

The top picture is my original photograph, I used the tutorial to crop and re-size my image in order to make it more appealing as well as make the file size smaller. I really enjoyed this tutorial because I didn't have to wait as long for the photos to upload because the file size was smaller. I also enjoyed learning more about Photoshop and its tools.

Again, the top picture is my original photo. For this photograph I liked the top image better, I think because it is already cropped in pretty tight and it gives you a better idea of what you are looking at. I liked this photo because of the contrast between the oranges and the blue vase that was holding them. 

This photo was taken in Queens. It was kinda foggy and dark out and but I think that's what makes this photo cool.

       This was taken on the 7-train ( Also in Queens, NY). I edited it  after to add more contrast to make it more appealing.     

This photo is personally my favorite out of all five. It was taken at Robert Moses Beach in Long Island. I think the color came out really neat and it was a good use of the rule of thirds
                                             
   This photo was also taken at Robert Moses Beach. The lighthouse in the background is kind of hard to see--but it is there.  I liked the way the clouds blend in with the field.

Another photo taken at Robert Moses beach. I don't know if anyone has heard about the  recent serial killer in Long Island, but the dunes to the left are actually where they found a lot of the bodies. Anyway, I liked the way the color turned out on this photo.

Framing Project

These are my framing photos from last weeks projects. I am a week late due to my laptop cord breaking and having no access to a computer, but better late then never. There are two photos that some people might have a hard time telling that they are framed.  The first being the one with the sand dune, and the second being the old car in the highway.  For me, the sane-dune made me look towards the ocean. The edge of the the sand-dune guides your eyes towards the ocean while framing it as well. The car photo, I used the highway to lead your eyes directly towards the mustang. The other photos are more obviously framed. I didn't really enjoy how some of the photos came out at first--after a bit of editing on Photoshop I thought they looked a bit better.

Elements of Photographic Composition

These articles proved to be very helpful for me. Taking this class has already helped me learn about important aspects of photography. The kodak page helped me learn more about composition, which is placement of objects and even objects that are in the photograph. If you have to pictures with the same object in each one, but the composition of the picture is different, one picture may be more appealing. Such as the placement of the object can be right in center or more off to the side, following the rule of thirds. A picture can completely change by just changing the angle you are shooting from. I was able to talk to a wedding photographer that my girlfriend used to work for and he told me that now that he has been working on photography for so long he doesn't even have to think about the rules, it just comes naturally. He said that his customers found pictures that weren't "snapshots" more appealing, such as his pictures from different angles or even having the bride blurred out completely.

Week 4

This is an example of complementary color scheme because the colors contrast each other. This is also an example of a macro photo because it is a close up shot. 

This is an example of analogous color scheme, it maybe hard to tell by looking at it but the hues in this photo are red and purple, which are right next to each other on the color wheel. I also like this photo because of the bokeh effect, which I think looks nice.

This photograph is an example of  monochromatic scheme, all the colors in the photo are different shades of dark blue and blends together very nicely. This is one of my favorite photos.
