Week two photos:
This is a photo I took at Robert Moses beach. I wanted to capture the view of the wave from a side angle to see a different perspective of the waves. I love the way the waves form before they crash--it tucks up into a tunnel and rapidly shuts. Taking the photo from the side really showed that. I knelt down while taking this photo so I could get a good floor view of the waves.
This second photo was taken at floor level, but instead of a side angle, I took it from the from front. I personally like this photo better. The texture seems softer, and the water blends a lot nicer with the sky then the first photo did. By taking it from a front angle in contrast to the side you get a completely different image. The side angle photo looks dramatic, while the front angle photo looks so calm and peaceful.

Wow, I love these pictures
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about the bottom one, liking it best. The texture of the sky and surf are similar yet different, kind of mirroring each other. But the top one is better composed with rule-of-thirds horizon and a slight diagonal to the wave and horizon too. A combo of the comp from #1 and the cool textures from #2 would be award winning!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the first one. There are more diagonal lines which seem more interesting to me. The second one seems to have a bunch of squiggly, wild lines in the white and foamy water. Cool perspectives, Steven!
