This is an example of complementary color scheme because the colors contrast each other. This is also an example of a macro photo because it is a close up shot.
This is an example of analogous color scheme, it maybe hard to tell by looking at it but the hues in this photo are red and purple, which are right next to each other on the color wheel. I also like this photo because of the bokeh effect, which I think looks nice.
This photograph is an example of monochromatic scheme, all the colors in the photo are different shades of dark blue and blends together very nicely. This is one of my favorite photos.
Steve, I liked the first picture, with red cap on a bottle. I think I would agree with you about that there are lot of contrasts in this picture. Seems that light yellow (in the background) boosted the color red (cap) into a vivid red; same for the black font (the writing on the bottle). I think the bridge picture is awesome! I liked to see that top in the picture is light shade meanwhile its darker at the bottom. nice going

ReplyDeleteOkay, now you're showing off, Steve. All your photos are excellent but that bottle cap photo is extraordinary. LOVE the colors, the macro, etc. If I was going to suggest any tweak it would be possible to crop out a little of background to make it less right in the middle of the photo, either crop tight to the bottle and cap or crop one side or the other to make it fit rule-of-thirds better.

ReplyDeleteOk you definitely have the eye for photography! I love all of these photos but my favorite is definitely the shot of the coke bottle. I like how simple and clean the background is, although red and yellow aren't complimentary colors. Red and green is complimentary though, and there is some green in the tint of the glass bottle.

ReplyDeleteThe picture of the bottle cap is really great! It has so many different parts to look at, the colors are great as well. The second one is interesting with the close up object and blurred background.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots, Steve. The first one is my favorite. I wouldn't have thought of that. It's appealing to me because the lines are clean and the colors are bold. It also has an americana theme going for it too with the old glass coke bottle; at least that's what it looks like!
